About Theresa Claassen

Wellness Educator · Lifestyle Design Specialist · Founder of Old Fashioned Wellness

Theresa Claassen is a dedicated wellness educator and the founder of Old Fashioned Wellness — a holistic platform devoted to intelligent lifestyle design, nervous system health, and sustainable healing. Her work is grounded in both lived experience and years of study in cellular nutrition, detoxification, breathwork, movement therapies, and whole-body regeneration.

Theresa’s own journey began with navigating trauma, depression, and addiction. These challenges became a catalyst for deep inquiry, leading her into the study of Eastern and Western healing modalities. Through her personal transformation, she experienced the profound impact of breathwork, fasting, functional movement, mineral restoration, and lifestyle medicine — practices that now form the foundation of her professional philosophy.

Today, Theresa is based in the serene coastal ecosystem of Betty’s Bay, where she continues to explore the relationship between environment, nervous system health, and human potential. Her work emphasizes conscious living, cellular integrity, and the intelligent use of lifestyle tools to restore balance, rebuild resilience, and ignite long-term vitality.

Old Fashioned Wellness reflects her commitment to providing clear, practical, and evidence-informed wellness education. Her mission is to help individuals create sustainable transformation through a harmonious blend of modern science and timeless healing wisdom.

Her Philosophy: Lifestyle as Medicine

In designing a life rooted in wellness, healing protocols are not luxuries — they are essential lifestyle tools.”

Theresa believes that wellness is built through consistent, intelligent, and accessible practices. Whether used individually or woven together as a holistic strategy, these tools are designed to help you return to balance, clarity, and adaptability.

Life will test your boundaries, challenge your beliefs, and stretch your resilience. Theresa teaches that embracing discomfort is often the doorway to profound healing and lasting transformation.

The lifestyle tools she shares — breathwork, fasting, movement, stillness, visualization, functional foods, and mineral-rich nourishment — are ancient practices used for centuries by yogis, healers, and wisdom traditions. What is new is how we consciously integrate them into our modern, fast-paced lives.

These tools are:

  • Straightforward

  • Highly effective

  • Accessible to anyone

  • Deeply supportive of the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual body

Your healing journey is uniquely yours, but the path is universal: understand your body, support your system, and live in alignment with the principles that help humans thrive.

Theresa’s role is to guide you through that process — with clarity, intelligence, and compassion.

About Your Guide

Theresa Claassen brings a unique blend of formal training, lived experience, and multidisciplinary wisdom to her work. As a qualified chef, Reiki Master, TCM practitioner, and long-time practitioner of Tai Chi and Qi Gong, she blends nourishment, energy work, and embodied movement to support whole-body healing. She is also a devoted wellness researcher, continually studying the intersections of functional nutrition, detoxification, nervous system repair, and cellular longevity.

Theresa’s personal lifestyle is grounded in daily breathwork and meditation, conscious movement, and the belief that nature itself is medicine. She has explored many ways of eating — including over a decade as a vegetarian and a full year as a raw vegan — before settling into a way of eating that feels more ancestral, intuitive, and aligned with her body’s needs today.

She believes in eating consciously, listening to the body, sourcing food responsibly, and understanding the true ecological footprint of all dietary choices. For her, choosing ethically sourced animal protein has become more supportive than modern monocrop agriculture, which can also impact insects, bees, and small wildlife. She encourages clients not to judge any single dietary path, but instead to choose with awareness, integrity, and respect — whether plant-based or nose-to-tail — always prioritizing organic and chemical-free options whenever possible.

Theresa’s lifestyle reflects the principles she teaches:

intermittent fasting, energy cultivation, proper sun exposure, hiking, cold-water swimming, mineralization, hydration, and a deep respect for the intelligence of the human body.

Her integrative background allows her to translate complex healing concepts into simple, practical tools — empowering women to build resilient health through conscious, sustainable, and intuitive living.
